ProActiv Solution Review: Does Proactiv Really Help Stop Acne?

Have you ever seen an acne treatment that DOESN’T say “it gets you the clear skin you deserve”? (Or something in that ballpark, anyway).

Well I haven’t, and of course, when reading about the Proactiv acne treatment I was very close to skipping it, seeing how they use the same old marketing technique on me.

What caught my eye and I must admit, I was the classical gullible target audience here, was the pretty faces of some well known actors, athletes and singers, recommending Proactiv.

Kevin Kasper, Serena Williams, Jessica Simpson or Vanessa Williams are just a few of the big names vouching for the Proactiv acne treatment and heck, if I’m going to take some advice for granted, it should be from “these people” and their silky skin, right?

Well, to tell you the truth, any company that can attract such big names must have some quality products to back itself up, otherwise they’ll just end up hurting their own and their sponsored celebrities reputation. So I went on and tried Proactiv, expecting the world.

One thing I liked about Proactiv is its ease of use. I just had to apply the solution on my skin twice per day (in the morning and in the evening) and massage it into my face until it’s completely dry.

It takes about 2-3 minutes per session but hey, spending 4-6 minutes per day removing one of the worst enemies of social contact and self-respect, acne, was damn well worth it.

It’s pretty much the same deal with Acnezine too: using it twice per day, gets the pimples away.

The only thing that seemed to make a difference is the “ick” factor. Whereas Acnezine was better in getting sucked up by the skin and leaving no marks, the Proactiv treatment was a bit ickier. It’s not something that can’t be fixed with a bit of warm water, but still.

One of the few problems I had with Proactiv was the reduced breakout effect. It was extremely efficient in removing the existing pimples, but others kept popping up instead and that wasn’t very effective for me.

Acnezine on the other hand, seemed like having better long-term effects and in the battle with acne, the war needs a long-term plan.

All in all, I couldn’t really say Proactiv was a bad acne treatment for me, but Acnezine always seemed like being one-step ahead in the run. So if I were to recommend one of the two to someone with a similar problem as mine, it would be Acnezine.
