Top 5 Home Treatments for Zits

Filed under: Zits — admin @ 7:12 am

There are many people that suffer with pimples or zits.  This can be a problem at any age so you need to know how to handle zits when they pop up unexpectedly. Below are the top 5 home treatment for zits so that you can stop zits in their tracks before they become painful unsightly problems.

1.     Keep your skin hydrated.  One of the biggest mistakes people make where their skin is concerned is by not drinking enough water.  It is a well known fact that a person is supposed to drink at least 8 to 10 glasses of water a day.  It is said that each glass should be at least 8 to 10 ounces.  If you do not get the amount of water that your body needs your skin can become dry and flakey which means it will be more prone to having zits pop up.
2.    Tooth paste can do more than just clean your teeth.  Many people swear that at the first sign of a zit popping up, you need to put a dab of tooth paste on the area at bed time.  This can help to reverse the zit and make it disappear sometimes by morning.
3.    Stay clear of harsh soaps or cleansers that contain harsh chemicals.  Soap can dry your skin very fast which will add to breakouts.  You want to stay with an antibacterial skin cleanser that is mild on the skin.  The antibacterial cleanser will help to kill the bacteria that cause zits to pop up.
4.    Lemon juice is said to wonders to help those with oily breakouts.  You would simply rub the juice of a lemon on your face in the evening before bed.  Let the juice dry on the face and remain there for at least 15 minutes.  Then just rinse with warm water and head to bed.
5.    It is said that you can apply the juice from fresh mint to your face each night before bed.  This is great for such skin infections as scabies, acne as well as insect stings.  Simply apply the juice at night and then wash your face with warm water when you wake.

If you suffer with zit problems then you may want to look into trying some of the treatments mentioned above.  These will work well for occasional breakouts or even help to clear up more troublesome bouts of acne.  You do not have to suffer with unsightly or painful zits.  If you find that you get no relief from the home treatments mentioned above then you need to seek the advice of your trusted medical professional.  Together, you and your doctor can come up with the best treatment plan for you and your particular skin issues.
