Getting Rid of Acne Naturally
Three of
every four people suffer from acne to varying
extents at some point in their lives. Because acne is so
common, there has been consistent research for hundreds of
years on how to get rid of it all together. Thankfully,
major progress has been made, but prevention is still not
certain.
There has
been an increase in natural acne treatments in
recent years, and their popularity has only grown with the
increased suspicion of chemicals in medicines. Before we
look deeper into natural remedies for acne, we will go over
the causes of acne.
Acne vulgaris,
as it is scientifically known, most commonly
occurs during adolescence and young adulthood. Some acne
sufferers remain afflicted with a less severe form of acne
throughout adulthood. Our sebaceous glands become more
active when puberty starts, and the added sebum that they
release are sometimes blocked by hair follicles and cannot
be released from the skin. As a result, little cysts called
comedones form. The more comedones a person has develop and
gather sebum and bacteria, the greater their chances are to
form cysts that can damage the skin.
Naturally
eliminating your acne starts with removing the
comedones, which can be done by widening your hair
follicles, reducing the activity of your sebaceous glands,
or keeping your skin clean enough to reduce their effects.
You can control
sebum production with vitamin A, which is
found in many natural and artificial acne treatments. If you
are looking for all natural treatment, then eat a balanced
diet with a smart amount of Vitamin A at each meal. Some
foods that are high in vitamin A are:
- Mangos
- Dairy
products
- Spinach
- Carrots
- Potatoes
- Liver
Don't take
too much vitamin A because it can be toxic in
high quantities, especially for pregnant women. Talk to your
dietician to determine the appropriate amount for your body.
Constantly
drinking water is also an excellent way to
control acne. Some people may find it to be weird, but you
can reduce toxins in your bloodstream and the bacteria that
lead to acne.
Is eating
the right foods the natural cure for acne? It is
not the only way, but it is a great start. Stop the creation
of the comedones and you won't have to worry about the
damage that they can do.
